Carrie accidentally finds out that Big is planning on moving away from NY and wonders if she should have goodbye sex with him. She tries to have a romantic evening with him, but Miranda goes into labor and Carrie has to ditch Big to join her friend at the hospital. Miranda still doesn't feel maternal at all – she doesn't want to be motivated to push and she gets annoyed every time Steve cries about the baby. The decomposed skeleton of a young woman is found in a shopping cart, but due to an aging disease she is reconstructed by Angela as an 80-year-old woman. Booth and Brennan investigate and are led to a former caretaker of the victim, but their lead is shaky and they have trouble finding out who would want to kill such an innocent young woman. Meanwhile, Max Keenan, Brennan's father, reappears with information from her past. Also, Hodgins and Angela walk down the aisle, but everything doesn't go as planned.

Juliet asks Shawn and Gus for assistance on her undercover assignment. They're only too glad to help, since it involves sorority sisters. Unfortunately, what's supposed to be an easy case turns out to have ties to their past and may endanger Juliet. Meanwhile, Lassiter locks horns with the oldest rookie the departments has ever trained.

In the season finale, all three couples, Tom and Trina, Roger and Janet and Bruce and Susan, face decisions about their respective marriages as they attend the Deckers's end of summer clambake party.
